DrawTarget is a UK pension drawdown calculator. This page covers what happens to your data (nothing) and the terms under which you use the app.
DrawTarget does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data. Everything you type into the app — your income target, pot values, State Pension override — stays on your device only, inside the app's own storage. Nothing is sent to us, to Apple's analytics, or to any third party. The app has no servers of its own. The only network connection it makes is through Apple's own App Store system, to show the price of DrawTarget Pro and to process a purchase or restore if you choose to; that is handled by Apple under Apple's privacy policy, and none of your calculation inputs are part of it.
Specifically:
UserDefaults): a custom State Pension amount, if you choose to enter one; whether you pay income tax in Scotland or elsewhere in the UK; a record that you have read the “Before you start” screen; and, to decide when to show Apple's standard “rate this app” prompt, how many calculations you have run, the date you first used the app and the app version you were last asked on. None of this leaves your device, and all of it is deleted if you delete the app. The income and pot values you type into a calculation are not saved, unless you choose to save a scenario (a DrawTarget Pro feature).Because nothing is collected, the usual data-subject rights under UK GDPR (access, correction, deletion, portability) don't have anything to act on — there is no record of you anywhere for us to show, correct, or delete. If you have any question about this, contact us using the details below.
If a future version of this app ever changed this — for example, to add optional cloud backup — this policy would be updated first, with a clear description of exactly what changed and why, and the change would need your explicit action to opt in.
By downloading, installing, or using DrawTarget, you agree to these Terms of Use. If you don't agree to them, please don't use the app.
A calculator only - what it leaves out. Results are estimates that depend entirely on what you enter and on simplifying assumptions, which are listed in full inside the app (Settings → Assumptions & limitations) and printed on every PDF. In particular, the app assumes your only income is the State Pension and your pension withdrawals; it covers defined contribution pensions only; it assumes no charges, and no investment growth or inflation unless you choose one of the illustration growth rates; and it does not consider inheritance tax, National Insurance or means-tested benefits. Choose Scotland in Settings if you pay Scottish income tax. You are responsible for checking whether these assumptions fit your circumstances before relying on any figure, and for deciding whether to take guidance or advice.
Tax year and figures. Calculations use 2026/27 UK tax year figures, with England, Wales and Northern Ireland income tax bands or, if you choose Scotland in Settings, Scottish bands. Figures such as the Personal Allowance, tax thresholds, the Lump Sum Allowance, and the full State Pension amount are set by government policy and change - most reliably every April, sometimes mid-year. We aim to keep these current but do not guarantee they reflect the very latest announcement at every moment; always cross-check anything significant against gov.uk or an adviser before acting on it.
No warranty, no liability. The app is provided "as is," without warranty of any kind. We do our best to make the maths correct - it is tested against a validated reference implementation - but we do not guarantee the app is error-free, and to the extent the law allows, we are not liable for any financial decision you make, or loss you suffer, based on its results - because the app is an illustration tool and not advice, any decision remains yours. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot legally be limited, and this does not affect any statutory rights you have under UK consumer law that cannot be excluded by agreement, including your rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.
Purchases and your right to cancel. If you buy DrawTarget or an in-app feature through the App Store, your purchase contract is with Apple, who acts as the retailer (merchant of record) and handles payment, VAT, and refunds under their own terms. Under UK consumer law, you normally have a 14-day right to cancel a digital purchase for any reason - but that right ends as soon as you consent to instant access and acknowledge you're giving up the cancellation period, which is exactly what happens when the App Store delivers a paid download immediately. After that point, your statutory right under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 is that the digital content must be of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose, and as described - if it isn't, you're entitled to a repair, replacement, or refund. Changes. We may update these terms or the privacy policy as the app changes. The effective date at the top of this page will always reflect the latest version.
Governing law. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales.
